Located in Santa Clara, this 29-acre project is a part of the 65 acres Lawrence Station Area Plan that consists of 988 residential units with 35,000 square feet of retail space and 3.3 acres of public parks and open spaces. The site is a walkable, modern, amenity-rich, transit oriented community. The public parks and open spaces area was maximized with the use of over 21,000 square feet of Silva Cell as the stormwater treatment facility to treat both public and private stormwater.

To match the contemporary style of the office buildings, the HMH Landscape Architecture team provided significant landscape renovations, an amenity-driven courtyard, and drought tolerant planting.

Concourse Sports Court
1740 Technology Drive is a market-ready office building that covers 0.2 acres and is located in San Jose. The project aimed to create an inviting usable space in the footprint of an existing cold, dark, under-utilized sports court behind a parking garage. Select trees were removed to bring in more light, real turf was removed and replaced with synthetic turf for water savings, a bocce court and lounge areas were added, an existing BBQ was refinished, an existing basketball court was resurfaced and a new basket was installed. The project is now noticeably brighter, more inviting, and currently is utilized by employees during their lunch hour.
North Central
Our project scope is landscape services for a new building entry plaza and courtyard space between the building and adjacent parking structure that includes a café, bikeshare parking, bamboo forest, mural art feature and numerous lounge seating areas with sculptural steel backdrops. The front plaza area includes a decorative fin wall to create signage opportunities and privacy while becoming a feature that winds through the building and into the central courtyard, transforming into a living wall with integrated water feature.
Lakeside
Lakeside, located in Santa Clara, is a commercial office project which had the objective to maintain the current shape of a bermed landscape area with heritage redwood trees and incorporate a usable patio work and entertainment space for the multi-tenant building. The amenities include a brick cladded concrete counter bar tops, low concrete vertical board form seat wall with uplighting.
Alameda Center
Alameda Center, located in Alameda, is a commercial office project which transformed a previously decomposed gravel unusable landscape area into an attractive and functional amenity space for dining. This serves two multi-tenant office buildings and is flexible for a number of people and types of offices. The industrial style of design plays on the original brick buildings while tying in modern materials. The amenities include a dedicated dining space, a lounge, and a flexible game space.
