Madera Air

The Madera Hydrogen Fueling Station demonstrates HMH’s integrated civil engineering and site design expertise in delivering a modern, high-capacity hydrogen fueling facility along Pistachio Drive in Madera County. HMH prepared the full civil site plan, including site layout, grading, access and circulation design, utility coordination, and safety elements such as CMU firewalls and protective bollards to meet operational and code requirements. The station accommodates both passenger and heavy-duty vehicles with separate fueling canopies, multiple dispenser islands, and a 25,000-gallon liquid hydrogen storage system, supported by vaporizers, vent stacks, and associated equipment.  HMH also developed a water-efficient landscape plan using drought-tolerant species—including Coast Live Oak, California Fuchsia, Dianella, Rockrose, and native grass hydroseed—to provide visual buffering and reduce long-term maintenance demands. Through coordinated civil, landscape, and safety design, HMH is helping advance clean-energy infrastructure that supports regional zero-emission transportation.
