Pete Smith Joins HMH

Pete Smith

We are excited to welcome our newest leader to the HMH team, Pete Smith, PE, QSD/QSP, Land Development Manager. Pete brings over 30 years of experience in entitlement and land development engineering and in providing civil engineering design services for both residential and commercial projects within the immediate and greater Bay Area.  He has been active in all phases of projects – from design and plan production using Civil 3D, coordinating with clients and city staff, and construction support services.

Before HMH, Pete was the Vice President at the Charles W. Davidson Co., which was known as a major player within the local development community. During his time at the company, Pete led a multitude of projects that included subdivisions, urban infill, multi-family and single-family residential, apartments, townhomes, and more. He was able to utilize his teamwork and collaboration approach with one of his largest projects, The Willows, a 100-acre KB Home project, located on the corner of Foxworthy and the Almaden expressway included townhomes, single-family homes, and apartments. As the project manager and eventual homeowner, he saw how a neighborhood can change and evolve.

Additional projects he has worked on include the 300-unit San Jose Toll Brothers project, The Courtyards and Villas at Lundy, the 312-unit high rise San Jose apartment, One South Market, the 643-unit high rise San Jose condominium project, 188 W. St. James, and the 8.5-acre BART Transit Village located in South San Francisco.

With a diverse background, extensive experience, and a collaborative approach, we are excited to have Pete join us as we continue to move forward in 2021. He enjoys many hobbies including beermaking, classic cars, skiing, and camping. He looks forward to sharing what he has learned while also helping to train the next generation of engineers. Hopefully, the sharing will also include the secret beermaking process.
