781 West Cutting is designed for industrial, warehouse, and logistic users located at the intersection of the Santa Fe and Point Richmond neighborhoods of Richmond, CA with dock doors, truck court trailer spaces, and secured trailer yard. The goal of the project is to help define and add to the placemaking of the local community. The project celebrates the Santa Fe neighborhood with a publicly accessible civic plaza designed with inspiration borrowed from the nearby harbor. The project team worked with the Design Review Board, Point Richmond Neighborhood Council and the Santa Fe Neighborhood Council to set a new and higher standard for an example of a “Gateway Project” in Richmond. In addition, our landscape architecture team designed the area with safety and community in mind. With climate appropriate coastal themed planting, plenty of lighting, and sculptural elements to pay homage to the nearby harbor, security and community are blended together seamlessly.
